The teenage year is a period of conflict in self-identity for youth everywhere in the world. In Nigeria, this crisis of self-identity has taken on dangerous dimensions with the high prevalence on substance abuse. There are more and more cases of children being initiated into substance abuse way before their teenage years creating; delinquent acts in the most productive sector of
the economy the young. There is an increase in moral decadence, violence, other criminal acts, and mental health-related illnesses. This issue has become an epidemic; hence a public health approach is needed as a holistic intervention to stem the crisis. We are currently deploying rehabilitation programs to arrest this hydra-headed menace to the Nigerian youthful population. We depend our meager resources to make this happen free of charge and so the window of opportunity is opened to willing Partners to collaborate with us and help drive this intervention at scale.
